Historic textile mill complex, was the site of a major cotton mill; the former Cosmos Imperial Cotton Mill, built in 1900. Part of Hamilton’s once flourishing textile industry, used often as studio space. Restored interiors. Feature original wood floors, ceiling beams and columns. Open loft space is being converted into artists’ studios. 3-storey redbrick building has freight elevator and old offices at one end, some with period lockers and washrooms as well as a medieval style water tower. The site also includes several smaller buildings with lower ceilings as well as alleyways and courtyards. Close to rail lines, potential noise factor.
