Location Description
Modern multi-purpose performing arts centre opened in 1980. Architect Reider Hymman and Lobban. Studio art gallery and Raffi Armenian Theatre. The Raffi Armenian Theatre has tri-level seating with a main orchestra level, mezzanine level and balcony. The seating is continental with only side entrances. There are also two levels of loges along the sides of the auditorium. The total theatre area is 9,330 square metres. Suspended adjustable ceiling. 2,000 permanent seats. Large stage with proscenium arch opening. Lobby has high ceilings with reception counter, a mezzanine level overlooking the lobby, and lounges. Backstage hallway with loading area, dressing room, green room, large studio, lounge with bar, boardroom meeting room, and admin office. Centre in the Square is an IATSE Union hall.
