Description
Location Description Urban park on the land beneath the confluence of the Richmond St., Adelaide St. and Eastern Ave. overpasses, just west of the Don River. The most extensive park to ever be built under an overpass in Canada, and the first of its kind in Toronto. Phase 1 of the park is just east of St. Lawrence St., near the River City development and a Toronto Community Housing complex. On the east side of Lower River St., there are skateboard ledges, a sloping concrete area and basketball hoops. Many graffiti-styel murals have been painted on the underpasses. The west side is more open and has a play area for kids, with swings, a see-saw, jungle gym equipment, hopscotch and four square area and an art installation above entitled "Mirage". Benches are scattered strategically throughout, and LED spotlights illuminate the space at night. Phase 2 features green space. Parking lot near St Lawrence St.
