Location Description
The Brockville Arts Centre was built in 1858 to serve as a town hall, marketplace, and fire engine house. In the late 1800’s the facility was converted to a performing arts venue, and it continues to host concerts, dance, community theatre groups and professional touring companies today. The lobbies, orchestra, balcony level seating, and washrooms are all modern and well appointed. The lobby features a stained glass demilune detail, gallery lighting and artwork hanging tracks/hardware.
The stage is approximately 60’w x48’d with a 38’ proscenium. 25 counterweight line sets (housed in a 65’ brick fly tower) accommodate lighting, projection screens, draperies, and production design elements. Backstage finish is original 1858 brick. There is shore power for buses and production trailers available onsite, as well as dock level loading doors accessible from the east side of the stage. Availability is determined by scheduled programming; times can be booked in advance to ensure availability. Facility lighting, audio, intercom, and staff available as part of rental arrangements if needed.
