Location Description
Commercial core 3 to 4 blocks long. Older stores on 2 lane paved road. Large flour mill off Fairy Lake. Fairy Lake is a large mill pond named by Sarah Secord, and it is surrounded by homes and Prospect Park. Several period buildings including a period red-brick building on Bower Street. Settled in 1825. 14 acre town park and fairgrounds. Acton adopted the theme of "Leathertown". Tanning industry began in 1842.
